Iran plans to boost startups in oil industry

Iran's Ministry of Oil plans to further support knowledge-based companies, startups,” Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh said, Trend reported via Shana news agency.

Visiting the project of construction of the Technology Park and the development of knowledge-based companies and start-ups in the Ray city, the minister mentioned the Oil Ministry's plan to strengthen and expand startups.

Zanganeh visited the former oil industry research institute as well as Ray trading warehouses, accompanied by CEO of National Iranian Oil Company Massoud Karbasian, deputies of oil ministry Saeed Mohammadzadeh and Houshang Fallahian, as well as executives of the National Iranian Oil Company.

"We are in touch with professionals in this field and we had meetings with some knowledge-based companies," he said, noting that there is a lot of discussions going on.

He went on to say that Ray city is the perfect location for setting up startups.

“Perhaps the first step for starting operations is the former oil industry research institute, which should be renovated and ready,” he added.

"Our plan is to have the first event there," he said.
