Azerbaijan exports 60 million kWh of electricity to Georgia

Azerbaijan exported 60 million kWh of electricity to Georgia in September 2019, Trend reports referring to the Electricity System Commercial Operator of Georgia (ESCO).

Overall, electricity imports to Georgia in September 2019 increased by 33 percent. According to ESCO operational statistics, in September, electricity imports to Georgia amounted to 185 million kWh.

At the same time, 125 million kWh was imported by Georgia from Russia and 60 million kWh from Azerbaijan. In September 2018, imports amounted to 139.46 million kWh.

From January to August 2019, the volume of electricity imports to Georgia reached 835 million kWh, which is 20 percent more than in the same period last year.

In August, electricity imports to Georgia amounted to 119.17 million kWh, and exports - 0.08 million kWh.

From January to August 2019 the volume of electricity imports to Georgia reached 835.19 million kWh, which is 20.5 percent more than in the same period of the previous year.

Since 2006, the Electricity System Commercial Operator of Georgia (ESCO) has been providing stability to the Georgian electric power sector, uninterrupted electricity supply to the country and active development of the Georgian energy system. ESCO started its activities in 2006 on the basis of amendments to the Law of Georgia on Electricity and Natural Gas.
