Gas transportation agreements with shippers on Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB) project will be signed on Oct.10, Teodora Georgieva, executive director of the ICGB project company, told Trend.

She noted that all vital documents for start of the construction will be signed on Oct.10 during a meeting of Greek and Bulgarian energy ministers.

“The Greek-Bulgarian intergovernmental agreement, an agreement between the European Investment Bank and Bulgarian Energy Holding EAD (BEH), BEH-ICGB agreement for 110 million euros, shareholder agreement verifying the business plan, gas transportation agreements with the shippers, also engineering procurement construction (EPC) contracts are expected to be signed,” Georgieva explained.

IGB is a gas pipeline, which will allow Bulgaria to receive Azerbaijani gas, in particular, the gas produced from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz 2 gas and condensate field. IGB is expected to be connected to TAP via which gas from the Shah Deniz field will be delivered to the European markets.

The initial capacity of IGB will be 3 billion cubic meters of gas.
