Minister: LNG park to be established in Iran

Iranian Petroleum Ministry is intending to establish an LNG park by creating mini LNG facilities, Iranian Petroleum Minister Bijan Zanganeh told Tasnim News Agency, Trend reports.

The capacity of the park will be three million tons, Zanganah said.

Iran's Petroleum Ministry is intending to enter the LNG industry using the local potential and help of Iranian companies, the minister said.

Local companies will be the investor in the establishment of the LNG park, the minister noted.

According to Zanganeh, talks have been carried out with Mapna Group, which is a conglomerate of Iranian companies involved in development and execution of thermal and renewable power, oil & gas, railway transportation and other industrial projects.

Mapna will conduct studies on the matter and will later report the results to the ministry, Zanganah said.
