French company Total outlined the paths for future development in a volatile energy market, Director of Development and Cooperation at Total E&P JV Mikhail Krasik said during the Caspian Technical Conference in Baku, Trend reports from the event.
As the director noted, for this purpose, the French company has designed a sustainable development strategy, which includes safety, limiting the environmental impact, reducing and controlling costs, using innovative technologies and ensuring standardization.
"Deep sea and underwater development is one of the main areas where Total has extensive experience," Krasik said.
Speaking about Total's vision, the director further noted that, according to the company, breakthrough technologies provide full-fledged underwater development and optimization of brownfield sites (fields that are at a late stage of development).
According to the director, rising costs are an obstacle to the development of deposits at sea. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure standardization and simplify the work, Krasik said.
