Trend:

Iran's oil industry is prepared to confront flood in Hawizeh Marshes (complex of marshes that straddle the Iraq and Iran border), said the National Iranian Oil Company Integrating performance manager Karim Zobeydi.

"We will increase the height of dams there, improve roads and infrastructure," said Zobeydi, Trend reports via IRNA.

"Although the flood from Hawizeh Marshes has moved towards the Iraqi side, the water has returned to Iran again, and some parts of Hawizeh Marshes haven't completely dried," said the official.

Iran has been damaged by flood in early April that hit southern part of countries.

"To compensate the flood damages, the oil sector has invested $30 million to reconstruct houses in villages and $7 million to provide basic goods," Zobeydi said.
