Azerbaijan's gas transportation via Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline up as of late 3Q2019

From January through September 2019, Azerbaijan exported over 7.4 billion cubic meters of gas via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline, which is 28.1 percent more compared to the same period of 2018, Trend reports referring to the country's State Statistical Committee.

Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum accounted for 37.2 percent of the total gas transported by Azerbaijan. The figure rose by 2.8 percent for the year.

From January to the end of September 2019, 19.9 billion cubic meters of gas were transported through trunk pipelines overall, which is 18.5 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.

The length of the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline is more than 700 kilometers. This gas pipeline transports the gas produced at the Shah Deniz gas condensate field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. The gas is supplied to Georgia and Turkey.
