The new pipeline, which will be commissioned on Oct. 25, will provide 35,000 subscribers and industrial facilities in Azerbaijan’s Khirdalan city with normal pressure gas, Trend reports referring to Azerigaz Production Union.

A steel pipeline with a diameter of 2,800 millimeters and with a length of 530 meters, running from the Mushfigabad gas distribution station in the Absheron district to Khirdalan city, was operated for a long time and became unusable due to corrosion.

Frequent cases of gas leakage were recorded, which made it difficult to supply gas to the population at normal pressure.

In August this year, the gas pipeline was replaced by polyethylene pipes with a diameter of 400 millimeters.

The gas pipeline was laid underground, at the intersection in three places with the railway, in one place - at the intersection with the Baku-Shamakhi highway, as well as in three places at the intersection of roads and streets in Khirdalan city.
