Trend:

Iran continues to export its oil products to Iraq, despite sanctions, said the spokesman of Iranian Oil,Gas and Petrochemical Products Exporters' Union Seyyed Hamid Hosseini, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Major part of Iran's oil exports is headed to Iraqi Kurdish autonomy region, said Hosseini.

He went on to add that in the past two weeks oil cargoes have been offered at the Iran energy exchange, but no new items because of the recent holidays in the country.

"The buyers of oil products are from the private sector, currently registered at the energy exchange," he added.

"Gasoline and petrol were not offered at the energy exchange since there are domestic demands for them," he said.

"Although, low octane petrol was offered at the exchange, mostly oriented for exports to Afghanistan. The customers in Iraq are looking for high-octane petrol," Hosseini explained.

Iran's Energy Exchange started to offer oil products for export purposes since summer.
