Production of Iran’s petrochemical industry to increase

Production of Iran’s petrochemical industry is projected to increase by the end of this Iranian year (began March 21, 2019) compared to last year, Ghodratollah Farajpour, production control manager at Iran’s National Petrochemical Company, said at the 31st meeting of directors of the petrochemical companies in Mashhad city of Iran’s Razavi Khorasan province, Trend reports citing NIPNA.

Farajpour noted that the Mehr, Khorasan and Laleh petrochemical companies fulfilled their production plan for the first six months (March 21 – Sept. 22) of this Iranian year by more than 90 percent.

Maroon, Zagros and Arya Sasol petrochemical companies also increased production by 110 percent in the first six months of this Iranian year compared to the same period last year, Farajpour added.

Iran’s Mehr Petrochemical Company is located in the Asaloyeh Special Zone in Bushehr province. Various heavy polyethylene products of this company are exported to China, India, Turkey, Malaysia, Russia, Ukraine, Philippines, Azerbaijan, Georgia and other countries.

Located in a special economic zone in the Mahshahr port in southwestern Iran, the Laleh Petrochemical Company produces light polyethylene of various grades.

Khorasan Petrochemical Company, located in North Khorasan province in northeastern Iran produces urea, melamine, ammonia, nitrogen and other products.

Arya Sasol Petrochemical Company, located in the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone in Iran’s Bushehr province, annually produces 1 million tons of olefins, 300,000 tons of lightweight polyethylene, 300,000 tons of medium and heavy polyethylene. The company exported 89 percent of its products this year and sold 11 percent of them in Iran.

Zagros Petrochemical Company, located in the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone in Iran’s Bushehr province, manufactures 3.3 million tons of various grades of methanol per year.

Mahshahr Petrochemical Company, operating in the Imam Khomeini Special Economic Zone in Iran’s Khuzestan province, annually produces 1.1 million tons of ethylene, 200,000 tons of propylene, 300,000 tons of heavy polyethylene, 300,000 tons of polypropylene and 443,000 tons of various glycols.
