Iran discloses amount of funds saved by repairing air compressor

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 14

By Elnur Baghishov - Trend:

Some 8 billion rials (about $190,000) were saved as a result of the repair of an air compressor at the Salman plant on the Lavan island in Iran’s southern Hormozgan province, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Offshore Oil Company.

“To save funds, the work is underway to promote the production of oil equipment in the country,” the company said. “As part of this work, a 300 cfm air compressor was repaired and put into operation. All equipment related to the air compressor is mobile equipment and can be used anywhere. The air compressor has been repaired to resolve the problems related to the pressure at the Salman plant.”

Salman oil field is located 144 kilometers of Iran's southern Lavan island. The field is a joint oil field between Iran and the United Arab Emirates. There are 44 oil wells and 10 injection wells on the field. The oil is transported via a 22-inch pipeline to the plants on the Lavan island.

The equipment used in the energy and other sectors was not sold or imported to Iran since November 2018 as a result of the US sanctions imposed against Iran. Taking this into account, Iran began to produce and repair the equipment within the country.
