Norwegian Equinor may co-op with Uzbekistan in geological exploration

Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan’s Uzbekneftegaz JSC oil and gas company Bakhodirjon Sidikov received a delegation of the Norwegian Equinor energy company, Trend reports citing Uzbekneftegaz’s press service.

Within the framework of the meeting, promising areas of cooperation in the field of geological exploration at the investment blocks of Uzbekistan were discussed.

Moreover, the Norwegian side announced its readiness to organize advanced training of Uzbekneftegaz’s specialists in their company and share experience in corporate transformation.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on signing a Memorandum of Understanding for the transition to practical implementation of the development of cooperation. Equinor is an international energy company present in more than 30 countries worldwide, including several of the world’s most important oil and gas provinces.

Founded in 1972 under the name Den Norske Stats Oljeselskap AS—Statoil (the Norwegian State Oil company), the company changed its name to Equinor in 2018. The company headquarterd in Stavanger, Norway, and have over 20,000 employees.

Equinor is the leading operator on the Norwegian continental shelf and have substantial international activities. The company is engaged in exploration, development and production of oil and gas, as well as wind and solar power.

It sells crude oil and are a major supplier of natural gas, with activities in processing, refining, and trading. The company’s activities are managed through eight business areas, staffs and support divisions, and it has operations in North and South America, Africa, Asia, Europe and Oceania, and Norway.
