Chinese Liaoning Leader Investment Holding Group plans to invest over $720 million in the construction of several wind farms in Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan’s Embassy in China.

Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Trade Investment with the support of Uzbekistan’s Embassy in China reached an agreement with the company at the second China International Import Expo.

Projects will be implemented in Bukhara, Samarkand and Navoi regions. At the first stage, the projects provide for the installation of wind power plants with a total capacity of 600 MW.

As a pilot project, the Chinese company has already installed three anemometric towers in the Gijduvan district of Bukhara region to determine wind parameters, based on which the location and technical characteristics of future wind power plants will be clarified.

The parties agreed on the desirability of discussing price parameters and other financial and economic aspects of the electricity purchase agreement based on the preparation of a feasibility study based on anemometric studies.
