Kazakhstan Solar Energy Association aims at further renewable energy dev't

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov.19

Solar Energy Association of Kazakhstan is working on issues of further renewable energy sector development in the country, Member of the Directors Board of the Association Yernar Bilyalov told Trend.

According to him, this year major public Solar Fest Qazaqstan event took place in Kazakhstan, which was organized by the association.

“The event brought together key stakeholders of Kazakhstan’s renewable energy sector. Following the event, a result document ‘Charter - appeal to the Government of Kazakhstan from the business community of the renewable energy sector for its further development in Kazakhstan’ was formed,” Bilyalov said.

Bilyalov also added that this document covers key issues and proposals for their solutions. Currently, association is working on solving these issues in cooperation with state authorities.

He further noted the projects which are currently being implemented by the companies-members of the association.

“We for sure are following the work of the Burnoye Solar-2 (10 MW) operating in Kazakhstan’s Zhambyl region. This is the expansion project of Burnoye Solar-1, which was finished last year. Two stations together have produced some 130 million kWh of electricity last year,” the official said.

Bilyalov highlighted that European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is an important member of the association, which supports the majority of renewable energy projects in Kazakhstan.

“Huawei company manufactures equipment for solar energy, inverters of this company are used at the Gulshat SES (40 MW, Karaganda region). Another member of the association France’s URBASOLAR SAS is working on construction of a Zadarya solar park (14MW) in Turkestan region with the help of EBRD. Last year the company won auction of selection of 5 MW solar park project,” Bilyalov said.

The official also added that the association is closely following work and projects of its members.
