By Elnur Baghishov - Trend:

Burning of flare gas at six West Karoun oil fields will be prevented as a result of commissioning NGL 3200 plant on Kharg Island in Iran’s southern Bushehr city, Executive Director of Iran's National Petrochemical Company and Deputy Oil Minister Behzad Mohammadi said.

“After NGL 3200 plant becomes operational, 250 million cubic feet (about 7.07 million cubic meters) of fuel will be supplied daily to the petrochemical facilities in Mahshahr county,” the deputy oil minister said, Trend reports referring to company's website.

Mohammadi added that among these fields are North Azadegan, South Azadegan, North Yaran, South Yaran, Yadavaran and Darkhovin.

The deputy oil minister said that according to the reports, the construction process of NGL 3200 plant advances by two percent per month.

“Taking into account the existing potential, the construction process will advance by 3-4 percent in the coming months,” Mohammadi added.

"So, the first phase of the plant will be accelerated next Iranian year (beginning on March 21, 2020)," the deputy oil minister said.

“The NGL 3100 plant will collect gas from oil fields in western Iran, namely, Azar, Dehloran, Cheshme Khosh, Paydar and other fields,” Mohammadi added.

Mohammadi said that the Bid-Boland gas treating plant also processes flaring gases from Khuzestan, Kohgiluye, Boyer-Ahmad and Bushehr provinces.
