Why oil sales via the Iran energy exchange so low?

TEHRAN, Iran, Dec.13

Trend:

CEO of the Iran Investment Institutions Association Eslami Bidgoli explained the reason for low oil sale via Iran Energy Exchange by insufficient infrastructure for private sector and information exchange, Trend reports citing ILNA.

Referring to the tools needed to create the oil derivatives market, Saeed Eslami Bidgoli added that the most important challenge in this sector is the regulatory and policy area.

“For many years there has been no policy on the oil derivatives market. "The issue is a technically feasible infrastructure development on the Iran Mercantile Exchange,” the official said.

"We face challenges in offering oil via the Energy Exchange,” Eslami Bidgoli noted. “One of the key issues is information exchange between the buyer and the seller on the market.”

He expressed hope that the pricing policy will improve leading to increase of the private sector's presence in oil market.
