By Fakhri Vakilov-Trend:
Uzbekistan has reduced the production of natural gas over eleven months of 2019 compared to the corresponding period of 2018, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.
According to official data, from January through November 2019, 54.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced (54.9 billion cubic meters for the corresponding period of 2018). The decline was 1.1 percent.
From January through October 2019, these figures were 49.3 billion and 49.8 billion cubic meters, respectively.
According to experts, the country's economy is based on the use of mainly hydrocarbon raw materials, which in the vast majority is directed to domestic needs. Moreover, natural gas is exported in continually increasing volumes.
According to the forecast, the available coal reserves in Uzbekistan will be enough only for the next 40-50 years, oil - for 10-12 years, natural gas - for 28-30 years.
As reported, Uzbekneftegaz produces an average of 42 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
