Turkey increases export of petroleum and petroleum oils to Georgia

Turkey exported 4,124 tons of petroleum and petroleum oils totaling $2.6 million to Georgia in January 2020, Trend reports referring to the Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

In an annual comparison, Turkey increased the export of petroleum and petroleum oils by 1,487 tons. In January 2019, 2,637 tons of petroleum and petroleum oils were exported from Turkey to Georgia for a total of $1.9 million.

In January 2020 Turkey exported 4,845 tons of tubes, pipes and hollow profiles, of iron or steel totaling $3.2 million to Georgia.

In an annual comparison, Turkey increased the export of tubes, pipes and hollow profiles, of iron or steel by 2,197 tons. In January 2019, 2,648 tons of tubes, pipes and hollow profiles, of iron or steel were exported from Turkey to Georgia for a total of $1.7 million.

Turkey ranks first in Georgia’s commodity circulation.

In January 2020, total imports to Georgia from Turkey amounted to $97.2 million. In turn, Georgia exported goods worth $19.8 million to Turkey.

The foreign trade turnover of Georgia with Turkey in January 2020 exceeded $117 million, which is 13.3 percent of the total trade turnover of Georgia.

In January 2020 the external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to $882.5 million, 5.7 percent higher compared to the same month of 2019.

As reported, the exports equaled $262.6 million (10 percent higher), while the imports stood at $619.8 million (4 percent higher). The negative trade balance was $357.2 million.
