The 13A platform was installed on February 24 as part of the 13th phase of the South Pars gas field which is a joint field of Iran and Qatar (this field is called North Dome in Qatar), Trend reports referring to the PR Department of Iran’s South Pars Oil and Gas Company.

“After the commissioning of 13A platform, 14.2 million cubic meters of gas will be additionally extracted as part of this phase daily,” said the message. “The 13A and 13C platforms produced by the Iran Maritime Industrial Company (Sadra) were sent for installation as part of this phase last week.”

“After the commissioning of the platform, 28 million cubic meters of enriched gas will be produced daily,” Phase 13 Development Project Manager Payam Motamad said. “This is only a half of the output revealed in the Phase 13 development project.”

Motamad said that 13B and 13D platforms were commissioned in 2018.

According to the plan for the development project of Phase 13 of the South Pars gas field, 56 million cubic meters of enriched gas, 75,000 barrels of gas condensate, 400 tons of sulfur, 1.1 million tons of liquefied gas and 1 million of ethane will be extracted after commissioning of platforms.

The proven reserves of the South Pars Gas Field have reached 51 trillion cubic meters of gas (36 trillion extractable).

Presently, 630 million cubic meters of gas may be extracted from Iran's South Pars gas field daily.

After new platforms are commissioned at five phases (13, 14, 22, 23 and 24), gas production volume will increase up to 680 million cubic meters a day.
