Uzbekneftegaz reconstructs idle gas well of Uzbekistan

An idle gas well was returned into operation at Shimoly Berdak field of Ustyurt oil and gas production department of Uzbekneftegaz, Trend reports citing the company press service.
As part of the Program for the development and reproduction of hydrocarbon raw materials base for JSC Uzbekneftegaz in 2020, in order to return to operation the idle gas well number 73 at Shimoly Berdak field of Ustyurt oil and gas production department, the workover was carried out.
Shimoly Berdak gas condensate field is located in Muynak District of Karakalpakstan and was commissioned in 2006.
The well was perforated in the 1592-1588 meters interval after isolation work, which resulted in an industrial gas inflow of 120,000 cubic meters a day after development.
The national holding company Uzbekneftegaz is a state-owned holding company of Uzbekistan's oil and gas industry. Uzbekneftegaz is the largest state company in Uzbekistan. The company ranks 11th in the world's natural gas production.
Previously, on February 18, at the Shorkum field in Bukhara region, a commercial natural gas inflow of up to 200,000 cubic meters per day was obtained after reconstruction.
On February 6, Uzbekneftegaz announced that the well number 35 of Shimoli Berdak field of Ustyurt Gas Production Department, that was abandoned 26 years ago, was repaired in Kashkadarya field and now will be able to produce natural gas again.
Recently, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting at which the head of state instructed Uzbekneftegaz to critically analyze each field and ensure the increase in gas production.
