Trend:

Commissioning works are carried out at the booster compressor station (BSC) built at the Malay gas field in Turkmenistan’s Lebap region, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal information portal.

The works are performed by Turkmenistan's Lebapgazchykarysh and the UK's Petro Gas LLP companies, which include the supply of electricity, installation of machinery, equipment, and cables.

The capacity of the BSC is 30 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The infrastructure of the facility consists of block A and block B, there are also control and technical points, as well as closed switchgear.

The contract for the construction of an infrastructure communication facility was signed in 2018 between Turkmengaz State Concern and Petro Gas LLP company with the purpose to increase the volume of Turkmenistan's natural gas exports.

More than 672.6 million manats ($196.9 million) were allocated for this project. The purchase of necessary equipment took 95 percent of the allocated funds, only the remaining 5 percent were spent on commissioning.

Malay is one of the Turkmenistan’s fields, where natural gas has been produced for many years. The supply of natural gas to Turkmenistan-China interstate gas pipeline is provided from this field.
