Iran's petrochemical industry is ready to increase production based on its existing potential and planned programs in the current Iranian year (starting March 20, 2020), Iran's National Petrochemical Company(NPC) Production Control Manager Jalal Mirhashemi said, Trend reports citing official website of Organization.
According to Mirhashemi, Iran's petrochemical industry has the infrastructure to increase production, and new projects will be launched.
Mirhashemi added that in addition, the unused potential of some existing plants will be used.
The official said that the production of the petrochemical sector in Iran will increase from 66 million tons to 100 million tons by the end of next year (March 21, 2022). The focus is on providing fuel to increase production.
"A number of plans are envisaged to ensure fuel supply and the goal is to increase sustainable production," he said
Currently, Iran produces 66 million tons of petrochemical products. It is planned to increase this production to 100 million tons by 2022 and increase its income from $17 billion to $25 billion. At the same time, by 2026, Iran's petrochemical sector is expected to increase production to 133 million tons and revenues to $37 billion.
