Two power stations commissioned in Iran's Markazi Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 5

Two power stations were put into operation today (May 5), in the Mahallat county of Iran's Markazi Province, Trend reports citing the Iranian Ministry of Energy.

According to the report, the private sector spent 360 billion rials (about $8.57 million) on 3-megawatt hydroelectric power station and 570 billion rials (about $13.5 million) on 4.8-megawatt hydroelectric power station.

“The 3-megawatt power station will produce 25,000 megawatt hours a year, and the 4.8-megawatt power station will produce 40,000 megawatt hours a year,” the report noted.

“With the commissioning of these two stations, 40 people were employed,” report said.

According to the report, today, a total of 8 water and electricity facilities have been commissioned in Iran's Markazi Province and 1.98 trillion rials (about $47.2 million) were spent on the commissioning of eight facilities.

“In addition, the construction of two facilities has begun,” report said.

The Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian attended to the ceremony for commissioning of facilities.
