Turkmenistan aims to increase hydrocarbon production

Turkmenistan intends to increase the volume of production and processing of hydrocarbon resources, modernize production facilities and infrastructure, Trend reports with reference to the Oil and Gas Complex of Turkmenistan.

The results of the work carried out in Turkmenistan’s oil and gas industry in the first four months of 2020 were discussed at the meeting held under the chairmanship of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Myratgeldi Meredov on May 12.

The meeting focused on the current tasks set for the country's oil and gas industry by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The meeting participants also highlighted the tasks related to improving the country's fuel and energy sector, implementation of a number of major investment projects, as well as enhancing the international cooperation in the energy sector and further increasing of oil production.

The meeting also featured reports on the results of the work carried out from January through April of 2020 at the enterprises of the fuel and energy sector. Participants discussed the construction of strategically important Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India Pipeline (TAPI).

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that timely fulfillment of the tasks set by the president will contribute to the dynamic development of the industry.
