Rouhani: Iran needs to realize all oil, petrochem projects as soon as possible

Tehran, Iran, May 26

Trend:

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani called on the need to develop and complete oil, gas and petrochemicals projects in the country, Trend reports via IRNA.

Rouhani made the remark in a phone conversation with Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh.

Iran should put all oil, petrochemical projects into operation as soon as possible, Rouhani said.

He noted that the oil, gas and petrochemical industry have suffered the least damage during the coronavirus pandemic.

In turn, Zanganeh spoke on the implementation of major oil, gas and petrochemical projects done in the current Iranian year (started on March 20), including those related to South Pars field, the Jask terminal project, the 1,000-kilometer Goureh-Jask pipeline, petrochemical projects and projects in western Karun.

The Jask oil terminal and pipeline project is being developed along the Sea of Oman, near the Jask port in the southern Hormozgan Province, Iran.

The total investment in the project is estimated to be more than $2 billion.

The project includes construction of an oil terminal and crude oil pipeline named Goureh-Jask. It is being developed by the Iranian Petroleum Ministry as part of Jask port development and to deliver crude oil from Goreh, Bushehr, to southern Iran.
