Azerigas to extend service life of gas lines across Azerbaijan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 1

Trend:

Azerbaijani gas supplier, Azerigas, will begin the implementation of a large project on enhancing gas supply, Trend reports citing Azerigas.

As part of preparation for the autumn-winter season, the company plans to restore about 260 km of gas lines, and also paint some 340 km of gas lines in 2020-2021.

As part of the program, which is already being implemented since early 2020, the relevant work in some places has been completed.

The gas lines fall from the poles due to the expansion of roads, removal of asphalt pavement and for other reasons (unsuitable condition of concrete poles, falling poles installed on slopes, etc.), thus the company carries out this work from time to time.

After the lines are raised from the ground, they're cleaned from corrosion. Then the gas lines are painted by anti-corrosion and other paint, and installed on concrete supports.

The mentioned work allows to extend the service life of the gas lines by 10-15 years.
