Azerbaijan’s exports of oil and petroleum products to Spain down

Spain imported 636,000 tons of oil and petroleum products from Azerbaijan from January through May 2020, as compared to 853,000 tons in the same period of 2019, Eurostat told Trend.

The country imported 178,000 tons in January 2020, 139,000 tons in February and 319,000 tons in May. The country didn’t import oil and petroleum products from Azerbaijan in March and April 2020.

This is while in 2019, Spain imported 367,000 tons in January, 218,000 tons in February, 193,000 tons in March, 75,000 tons in April, 363,000 tons in July, 94,000 tons in August and 83,000 tons in October.

Azerbaijan exported 19.5 million tons of oil from January through July 2020, which is 0.02 percent more compared to the same period of 2019, according to the statistical report of the State Customs Committee (SCC).

According to the report, the total volume of exports of petroleum products in the reporting period amounted to $6.3 billion, showing an annual decrease of 48.6 percent.

During seven months of 2020, the volume of exports of petroleum products amounted to almost 705,797 tons, which is 15.4 percent more compared to the same period of last year.

The volume of exports from Azerbaijan during the reporting period of this year totaled $9.1 billion, having shown a 33.6 percent drop year-on-year.
