Azerbaijan was leading exporter of natural gas to Turkey in the first half of this year, Trend reports on August 25 referring to Turkish media outlets.
The reports said the biggest volume of natural gas imported to Turkey in the reporting period was from Azerbaijan - 5.444 billion cubic meters.
Moreover, the volume of gas imported from Azerbaijan increased by 23.4 percent compared to last year. The positive dynamics was also influenced by the increase in gas supplies via the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline.
At the same time, the volume of natural gas imported by Turkey from Iran in the first 6 months of the year decreased by 46 percent compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to 2.029 billion cubic meters. Meanwhile, in April, May and June, no supplies of natural gas to Turkey from Iran were carried out.
The volume of gas received in the first half of 2020 from Russia decreased by 41.5 percent, making up 4.678 billion cubic meters.
