By Elnur Bagishov – Trend:

About 20,000 barrels per day will be added to the extraction of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company with the installation of 2 platforms in the Hendijan oil field in the Persian Gulf, said Ali Ahoochehr Construction Manager of Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC), Trend reports citing the company’s website.

Ahoochehr noted that the installation of two platforms, each weighing more than 1,000 tons, has begun at the Hendijan field.

The official added that each of these platforms will be extracting 10,000 barrels of oil per day.

According to him, the Hendijan field currently extracts 30,000 barrels of oil per day, and with the installation of these platforms, the extraction from the field will increase to 50,000 barrels per day.

Ahoochehr stressed that these platforms were developed by the Iranian Shipbuilding and Offshore Industries Company and the Atlas Offshore Company is operating as the main contractor and Sadra as the subcontractor in the installation of the platforms.

The official said that the oil from the Hendijan field is sweetened on the platform of the Bahragansar field after extraction.

"With the installation of platforms, access to the wells will increase. Well safety and other control systems will be at a high level," he said.

The Hendijan oil field is located in the Persian Gulf in the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran). There are 9 wells in this field. The extracted oil is transported to the platform of the Bahragan oil field via 10 and 12 inch pipelines with a length of 10 kilometers.
