Turkmenistan working to increase electricity exports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 8

By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend:

Turkmenistan is expected to grow electricity exports by 8.7 percent by 2025, Trend reports with reference to the Business Turkmenistan information portal.

The construction of new power plants, power transmission lines, modern transformer substations and switchgears will contribute to the growth of exports.

For example, a 400 MW Zerger gas turbine power plant is currently being built in the Chardzhev districts of the Lebap region, which will become the main source of electricity supply to Afghanistan.

As reported, equipment for the Zerger gas turbine power station is to be delivered to Turkmenistan.

The order was received from Renaissance Heavy Industries, which is building this power plant in Turkmenistan. This is the first project of Yokogawa in this country to supply control systems to a power plant.

Yokogawa had to supply the CENTUM VP integrated production management system, DPharp EJATM series pressure and differential pressure transmitters, and YTA610*2 temperature transmitters.

Yokogawa opened a sales office in Turkmenistan in August 2015.

The electricity production plan in Turkmenistan was exceeded by 6 percent from January through August.
