Uzbekistan, UK eye to co-op in oil and gas sector

The UK expressed interest in expanding its presence in Uzbekistan to implement new projects in the field of alternative energy, green economy, and training of professional personnel in the field of engineering design, Trend reports citing Dunyo information agency.
Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the UK, Said Rustamov held online talks with Vice President of the British company Wood Plc, Michael Mayer, and project manager for development, Stefano Donzelli.
The meeting was also attended by the newly appointed Deputy Ambassador of Great Britain in Tashkent, Stephen Andersen.
During the talks, the sides discussed the directions of the company's current activities in Uzbekistan, including its participation in the preparation and implementation of large projects in the oil and gas sector in several regions of the country.
An agreement was also reached on using the potential of Wood Plc in organizing presentations on the investment and trade and economic potential of Uzbekistan for representatives of the British business community.
Wood Plc is a multinational engineering company headquartered in Scotland that provides a wide range of design, construction, support, and production management services.
