Iran's NIDC declares number of drilling rigs in use

The National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) currently uses 12 heavy drilling rigs within the National Iranian Oil Company’s project to maintain and increase oil extraction, Managing Director of the NIDC, Abdollah Mousavi said, Trend reports citing NIDC’s official website.

Mousavi emphasized that these rigs were installed in the territory of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) and the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC).

Mousavi added that 3 of these rigs were installed in the Naft Shahr oil field, 1 in the Gachsaran oil field.

The director noted that so far, 6,700 meters of drilling has been carried out in these fields.

According to him, 5 development wells and 2 repair wells will be improved in the Gachsaran oil field, 1 development, and 4 repair wells in the Naft Shahr field.

“At present, work has been completed on two wells in the Naft Shahr field, and while on the third well has begun in recent days,” he said.

The director stressed that 4 delineation wells and 2 development wells will be drilled in the Balarud oil field.

"Six development and two repair wells will be improved in order to maintain and increase extraction at the Ramin oil field," he noted.

Mousavi added that the NIDC will drill and improve six development wells in the Sepehr and Jufair fields.
