First ever online action for subsoil use to be held in Kazakhstan
BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 29
The auction to grant the right for subsoil use to held online in Kazakhstan for the first time ever, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy.
The auction will be held via the website of the operator of electronic auctions: www.gosreestr.kz.
An online auction will take place on December 23, 2020, from 10:00 to 17:00 (GMT +4). Ten plots of land are to be put up for an auction.
An application for the auction may be submitted until November 29 via www.gosreestr.kz.
The ministry said that online auctions became possible thanks to the amendments made to Kazakhstan’s Code on Subsoil and Subsoil Use, which allows holding auctions online.
Previously, the auctions were held in paper format, which caused certain inconveniences to the participants. Now, in accordance with the adopted amendments to the Code, those interested in obtaining the right to subsoil use will be able to participate in auctions in online mode.
In June, Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy has been instructed to ensure the launch of an online auction system for the provision of subsoil use rights for hydrocarbons before the end of 2020.
The topic was discussed during a meeting of the State Commission on Digitalization under Kazakhstan’s President held on June 26, 2020.
