Azerbaijan accounts for almost 62% of Ukraine’s crude oil imports

Azerbaijan accounted for 61.78 percent of Ukraine’s crude oil imports from January through November 2020, Trend reports citing Ukrainian media.

Ukraine increased crude oil imports by 54.3 percent or by 405, 251 tons from January through November 2020, as compared to 2019, brining the total volume of imports to 1.151 million tons.

The value of imported crude stood at $377.031 million, or 1.5 percent less than $382.657 million in the same period of 2019. Ukraine imported crude oil worth of $232.94 million from Azerbaijan, $98.445 million from the US, $45.555 million from Libya and $0.091 million from other countries.

This is while Ukraine’s oil and crude oil exports totaled 80,000 tons worth of $24.351 million from January through November 2020. Crude oil and oil was exported by Ukrtransnafta, which bought Azerbaijani oil in spring of 2020 when the prices were lower and sold it to the subsidiary of Belarusian Oil Company.

Ukraine didn’t export oil in 2019.

Azerbaijan exported 21.5 million tons of oil (together with condensate) over the nine months of this year, according to the country's Ministry of Energy.

According to the data, this is about 1.9 million tons or 8 percent less than in the first nine months of 2019.

From oil-condensate, 20.4 million tons were exported by the consortium, 1.1 million tons - by SOCAR.
