Georgian Tbilisi Energy gas supply company will not increase the cost of natural gas for commercial consumption, said Economy Minister Natia Turnava, Trend reports via Georgian media.
Turnava said the ministry consulted with the company and reached an agreement that the current tariff will not be increased by 0.24 tetris (7.32 cents) from January in Georgia.
"Consultations between the ministry and the company have ended. The natural gas price will not increase,” said Turnava.
Tbilisi Energy gas supply company announced on December 1 that the natural gas price for commercial consumption would increase from current 0.86 tetris (26.22 cents) to 1.10 tetris (34 cents) from January 3.
On December 10, seven business associations released a statement in response to the increase of natural gas prices for the commercial sector.
