Georgia reveals volume of imported electricity

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 22

Georgia imported 575 million kWh of electricity from Azerbaijan from January through November of this year, Trend reports via Georgia's Commercial Operator of the Electricity System (ESCO).

In total, Georgia purchased 1,270.9 million kWh of electricity. The share of Azerbaijani electricity in total imports amounts to 45.25 percent.

It should be noted that during 11 months, the transit of electricity from Azerbaijan to Turkey through Georgia amounted to 101.79 million kWh.

As for the export of electricity from Georgia to Azerbaijan, this figure is reduced by 17.861 million kWh.

Georgia imported 926.86 million kilowatt-hours of electricity within nine months of 2020.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan supplied 450.184 million kilowatt-hours to Georgia. The volume of electricity exports from Azerbaijan to Georgia decreased by 370.686 million kilowatt-hours or 45 percent per year.

In January through September of 2020, 101.79 million kilowatt-hours of electricity were transported from Azerbaijan to Turkey through Georgia.

From January through August 2020, Georgia exported 15.3 million kWh of electricity to Azerbaijan, 69.5 million kWh to Turkey. In the reporting period, Azerbaijan sent 101.8 million kWh of electricity to Turkey via Georgia.
