Trend:

Iran's power consumption had a declining mood for five straight days but it increased at 18:23 on Sunday to 40,135 megawatts.

Iran's power consumption has increased to 40,135 megawatts on Saturday that indicated a 6,099-megawatt increase comparing to the same time in last Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), Trend reports citing IRNA.

The power consumption in the industrial sector has peaked at 5,069 megawatts that shows an increase in production and a flourishing economy.

The power consumption at 11:40 was 38,318 megawatt that indicates considerable consumption for the winter season and an increase of 7,700 megawatts compared to the same hour in the last Iranian year (started March 21, 2019) that was 30,580 megawatt.

The officials in the power sector have advised users to reduce consumptions as the household sector consumption increased in previous weeks. Iran's Power Generation and Distribution Company (TAVANIR) had reduced the lights of street lamps and passages to reduce consumption.

"The power consumption of one street lamp is equal to one household electricity consumption and reducing the lighting would have an important effect on power consumption management," said the CEO of TAVANIR recently.

"The cost of these unessential lighting is equal to the cost of 1,000 liters fuel for power plants while these lightings creates 3 tons of pollution," said Mohammad Hassan Motevali Zadeh.
