SOCAR among major fuel suppliers to Ukraine’s Defense Ministry

Ukrainian subsidiary of the Azerbaijani state-owned company SOCAR became one of the major fuel suppliers to Ukraine’s Defense Ministry in 2020, Trend reports.

SOCAR Ukraine was the second largest company in terms of supply volumes, having contracted 33,000 tons of diesel fuel and 6,100 tons of aviation fuel, Ukrainian media reports.

The largest supplier of fuel to the ministry in 2020 was Alliance Energo Trade (56,010 tons of fuel, including 37,480 tons of diesel fuel, 11,830 tons of jet fuel and 6,700 tons of A-80 gasoline). Lux Kraina came in third with 36,960 tons.

In general, in 2020, the Ministry of Defense signed 58 contracts for the supply of 199,000 tons of fuel, which is 41 percent more than the volumes contracted in 2019 (141,700 tons).

The number of suppliers of the Ministry of Defense in 2020 increased to ten companies against eight in 2019.

As of 2020, the ministry signed contracts for the supply of 126,800 tons of summer and Arctic diesel fuel, 62,290 tons of aviation fuel, 6,700 tons of A-80 low-octane gasoline, 2,650 tons of A-92 gasoline and 636 tons of A-95.
