Solar panel station to be installed in Iran's Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province

A 2-megawatts solar panel station will be installed in the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province (southwestern Iran) with the investments of the private sector in the first six months of next Iranian year (as of March 21, 2021), said Jamal Motamedizadeh, the Executive Director of the Electricity Distribution Company of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province of Iran, Trend reports citing Ministry of Energy of Iran.

Motamedizadeh stressed that there are currently 41 solar panel stations in the province. Eleven of them were installed by government agencies and 30 by the private sector.

The director added that about 1.2 megawatt-hours of electricity are generated by solar panel stations in the province.

“Each kilowatt of electricity generated by a 1-20 kilowatts solar panel station in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province is purchased for 10,400 rials (about 24 cents), generated by a 20-100 kilowatts station is purchased for 9,100 rials (about 21 cents), by a station which generates more than 100 kilowatts of electricity is purchased for 6,370 (about 15 cents) and transferred to the province's electricity network,” he said.

As reported, there are 270,000 subscribers in Iran's Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province. Its 210,000 subscribers are in the villages.
