The electricity generation at the Rey Thermal Power Plant in Iran’s Tehran Province increased by 5 percent during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through February 18, 2021), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Energy of Iran.

According to the report, the thermal power plant generated 1.95 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity within 11 months.

“About 1.94 billion kilowatt-hours of generated electricity have been transmitted to Iran's electricity network,” the report said.

Iran's Rey Thermal Power Plant has a total of 29 gas turbines and the generation capacity of this power plant is 979.4 megawatt hours. Due to the obsolescence of the equipment in the units of the TPP, only 21 gas units of the power plant are used. The generation capacity of 21 gas units is 754 megawatt-hours.
