Subsidiary of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR in Turkey has increased its marine pollution response capacity in Aliaga, Trend reports citing Turkish media.

SOCAR Turkey has created Marine Pollution Response Center and has Aliaga Responder vessel to immediately react to such problems.

Aliaga Responder is able to collect 40 cubic meters of petroleum per hour.

The 35-meter long ship has additional sweeping arms that can interfere with the spill of oil at sea.

SOCAR Aliaga Terminal maintains its operations in line with the integration vision and missions of SOCAR across Turkey while it protects the-then port management system and operational structure of the port.

Having an integrated dock structure of 700 meters and a minimum water depth of 16 meters, SOCAR Aliaga Terminal is the first and only port management to provide service to the ships with a capacity of 18.000 TEU efficiently in the Aegean Region. Equipped with a handling capacity of 1.5 Million TEU containers, the terminal is the largest terminal across the Aegean Region.

Having a logistics space of 42 hectares and 6 hectares on the port reach and support services area, respectively, for container storage, the terminal also embraces a general cargo dock extending 150 meters long and reaching a depth of 10 meters. The general cargo dock of SOCAR Aliaga Terminal is equipped with a carrying capacity of 10 tons/m2, and an additional storage area of 30 decares can also be provided for project cargo shipments that require storage.

With many innovations, a strong infrastructure and a set of values introduced to both customers and ship operators, SOCAR Aliaga Terminal continues to add values to both the Aegean Region and Turkey.
