Emerson interested in new projects in Caspian region

By Leman Zeynalova – Trend:

The US-based Emerson company is interested in new projects in the Caspian Sea region, the company told Trend.

Emerson is providing its Project Certainty methodologies and technologies, including digital twin solutions and cloud engineering, to accelerate the development of the BP-operated platform.

Emerson was awarded a $14 million contract in October 2020 to provide automation technologies for the new Azeri Central East offshore platform in the Caspian Sea, the latest development in the Azeri-Chirag-Deepwater Gunashli oilfield.

“Emerson is available and interested to discuss opportunities to take on other projects or provide services for companies operating in the region,” the company said.

“Emerson is able to provide virtual testing and system integration while the platform is being built. In addition, with digital twin technology, Emerson can help train platform operators in a simulated environment so they are trained and ready for start-up. And cloud engineering enables global teams to collaborate and engineer the project, no matter where they are located – particularly important during the pandemic when travel is restricted,” the company said earlier.
