SOCAR boosts exports of oil, petrochemical and gas-chemical products

Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR has increased the volume of exports of oil, petrochemical and gas-chemical products in the first quarter of 2021, Trend reports with reference to the company.

In this period, about 669,000 tons of oil, petrochemical and gas-chemical products produced by SOCAR Group in Azerbaijan were exported. A 25 percent growth from the same period of last year was achieved mainly due to the increased export of diesel, bitumen, petroleum coke, lubricants and petrochemicals.

The oil and gas refineries in Azerbaijan processed more than 1.4 million tons of crude and more than 1.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas during the first quarter.

SOCAR is involved in exploring oil and gas fields, producing, processing, and transporting oil, gas, and gas condensate, marketing petroleum and petrochemical products in domestic and international markets, and supplying natural gas to industry and the public in Azerbaijan. Three production divisions, one oil refineries and one gas processing plant, a deep water platform fabrication yard, two trusts, one institution, and 23 subdivisions are operating as corporate entities under SOCAR.

SOCAR conducts various petroleum activities in countries such as Georgia, Turkey, Romania, Switzerland, Germany and Ukraine, including trading activities, mainly in Switzerland, Singapore and Nigeria.
