BAKU, Azerbaijan, Apr. 16

By Nargiz Sadikhova - Trend:

Russian Hevel Energy Group has finished the construction of Kentau 50 MW solar plant in Kazakhstan’s city of Kentau in the Turkestan region, Trend reports citing KAZAKH INVEST National Company, which supported the project.

The plant’s construction began in April 2020, and over this period more than 127,000 highly efficient double-sided solar modules produced using HJT technology were installed here.

The projected annual electricity generation by the Kentau solar plant will amount to 104 million kWh a year. This will allow to cut emissions into the atmosphere by nearly 52,000 tons of CO2 a year.

Over 150 people were employed during the construction of the solar power plant, and 22 permanent jobs were created with the launch of the plant. Local contractors were involved in construction work.

Hevel Group is the largest cells-to-module PV manufacturer in Europe using high-performance heterojunction technology (HJT). The company's current production capacity amounts to 340 MW/year.

Hevel Group is also the largest investor in solar parks in Russia and CIS – with a 1.1 GW project pipeline in different regions.
