BAKU, Azerbaijan, Apr.20

By Leman Zeynalova – Trend:

Between January 1 and March 31, the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) has delivered a total of 1.16 billion cubic meters of gas in its target markets, with utilization in line with expectations, Trend reports citing Spanish Enagas, one of the TAP shareholders.

The operational availability of the infrastructure in the period was 100 percent, according to the Spanish company.

“After gas deliveries to Europe started on December 31, 2020, TAP announced on March 19 that it had reached the first billion cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas delivered to Europe through the Greek Kipoi interconnection, where TAP connects with TANAP. At March 31, 2021, TAP reached the Financial Completion Date. The financing banks of the project proceeded to release the pre-condition guarantees provided by the shareholders during the project’s construction phase,” said Enagas.

The company said TAP is currently continuing with preparations for the launch of the binding phase of its market test at the beginning of July 2021, the result of which could mean increasing the transport capacity of the infrastructure from the current 10 billion cubic meters per year.
