The main buyers of crude oil exported from Azerbaijan were Italy, India and Spain in the first quarter of 2021, Trend reports citing the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
“From January through March 2021, Azerbaijan exported 3.63 million tons of crude oil to Italy worth over $1.35 billion. The share of Italy in oil exports from Azerbaijan amounted to 51.5 percent,” said the committee report.
“India became the second largest buyer of Azerbaijani oil. In the first quarter of 2021, Azerbaijan exported 845,590 tons of crude oil to India in the amount of $346.18 million. India's share in Azerbaijan's oil exports was 12 percent,” said the report.
According to the report, Azerbaijan exported 517,900 tons of oil to Spain worth $179.8 million, to Israel - 305.7 tons worth $124.9 million, to Portugal - 312,230 tons of oil worth $123.6 million.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 339,389 tons of oil to Ukraine, 277,516 tons - to China, 180,697 tons - to the UK, 181,551 tons - to Belarus and 187,115 tons - to Croatia.
At the same time, Azerbaijan exported oil to Ukraine in the amount of $111.4 million, to China - $102.5 million, to the UK - $81.1 million, Belarus - $76.2 million and Croatia - $61.8 million.
In the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported a total of over 7.04 million tons of oil, decrease of 7 percent on an annual basis. In value terms, Azerbaijan’s oil exports amounted to $2.66 billion, decreasing by 24.3 percent over the year.
