Construction of four wind power plants planned in Georgia

It is planned to build four wind farms in Georgia, Trend reports referring to the Georgian media.

The Energy Development Fund of Georgia intends to implement these projects.

According to the head of the state-owned company Georgi Chikovani, we are talking about power plants in Zestafoni, Nigoza and Ruisi.

“Their installed capacity exceeds 200 megawatts. All these projects are in the development stage, the feasibility study has been completed, after which we will move on to the construction stage by the end of the year and next year, we hope they will work,” Chikovani said.

According to him, these projects have been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, but have not been suspended.

As for investors, Chikovani does not disclose details, but says that the projects are of interest to both local and foreign investors.
