Turkmenistan intends to increase pace of oil production

Turkmenistan intends to pay special attention to increasing the pace of oil production, Trend reports, citing Nebit-Gaz the electronic newspaper.

The issue was discussed during the meeting to summarize the work of the country's fuel and energy sector from January through April 2021.

It was pointed out that special attention should be paid to the consistent implementation of the production plans of the complex of oil refineries, increasing the production capacity of polyethylene and polypropylene, as well as the introduction of innovative technologies in the activities of Turkmenistan’s Turkmengeology State Corporation.

In addition, the meeting discussed issues of accelerating the development of Turkmenistan's oil and gas fields in the Caspian Sea, and the construction of the Turkmenistan - Afghanistan - Pakistan - India (TAPI) pipeline.

Also, fruitful work should be carried out on other international projects for the export of natural gas, it was said.

The indicators of the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan increased from January through April 2021.

Thus, during the reporting period, the country exceeded the plan for the production of gasoline by 9 percent, diesel fuel by 0.8 percent, polypropylene by 5.5 percent, lubricating oils by 0.1 percent, liquefied gas - by 7.1 percent, natural and associated gas production-by 14.6 percent.

In addition, the plan for gas exports was exceeded by 19.3 percent, and the development of investments by 9.1 percent.
