SOCAR to operate exports of Rosneft’s oil products to Ukraine - sources

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 13

By Leman Zeynalova – Trend:

Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR will operate the exports of Russian Rosneft’s oil products to Ukraine, Trend reports with reference to Ukrainian media.

Reportedly, the contract has already been signed and SOCAR Trading based in Switzerland will operate the sales and hold talks with Ukrainian partners. SOCAR’s Ukrainian subsidiary is also expected to take part in the sale and distribution of products.

The supplies are set to start in May with quota of over 100,000 tons of diesel fuel and 12,000 tons of liquified natural gas (LNG). Nevertheless, market participants expect the deliveries to begin in June.

Sources say SOCAR has set prices for diesel fuel with shipment from Gomel at above $30 per ton.

Headquartered in Geneva, SOCAR Trading was incorporated in December 2007 as the marketing arm of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) with a mandate to market Azerbaijani barrels produced from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli field and other surrounding fields in Azerbaijan.
