BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 16

By Leman Zeynalova - Trend:

Ukrainian subsidiary of the Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR has temporarily suspended the sale of premium fuel, namely, NANO 95, Diesel Nano Extro, Trend reports with reference to the company.

SOCAR Energy Ukraine said this step came after the decision of Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers dated May 14 to introduce the maximum level of trade mark-up to the average price of diesel fuel (UAH 7 / liter) and gasoline (UAH 5 / liter).

Thus, state regulation of prices in the retail market of petroleum products has been introduced.

SOCAR Energy Ukraine also adjusted prices for basic fuels on May 15, taking into account the restrictions.

Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR’s representative office opened in Ukraine in 2008.

The company acquired about 20 Tala-Nafta filling stations in Odessa and Nikolaev regions. as well as Svitanok large oil depot in Odessa region in 2009.

The company took control of the fuelling networks ONIO (four filling stations in Kyiv and the region) and GFC (in Lviv region) in 2010-2011. SOCAR received permission from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine to purchase 26 filling stations and one tank farm of the Kalina group in August 2012.
